summer lovin'

from left to right top: eug ang, caderam, organiser boon pin,
from left to right bottom: kelly , me and christina
and so one fine day, bp decided to have lunch buffet @ Pan Pacific Orchard Hotel. because according to him, it is so damn cheap! $20 lunch at an atas hotel due to the UOB card promotions, 1 for 1 dining.

i dont think the food is that great la, the selection is actually quite sucky, it feels more like breakfast buffet, we ate so much bread because there wasnt that much to savour. no sashimi, or any type of seafood. lots of salad and bread =( .

this is all they had for main course. less than 10 dishes, mostly potato and caderam's pan pacific sausages. which i think taste alright only, not that fantastic.

i was looking forward to dessert actually, haha because there was this huge mouth watering chocolate fountain with all the yummy fruits around it, and i am in the mood for some chocolate=P because the main dishes are just so bad.

the only thing, i feel is yummy is that chocolate tart! yummy and the strawberries=) they go sooooo well with chocolate!

after that disappointing lunch, we headed down to Plaza Sing to catch the long awaited Transformer's sequel, The revenge of the Fallen. haha poor nana and ang, had to watch it 2 times because of us.=P we were seated at 2nd row from the screen, the neck aches, but the movie was quite awesome. megan fox is soo overrated, she's not that pretty la. the fighting scenes were quite messy, couldnt see what was happening most of the time. there were a few funny moments too, n i luv bumblebeee=)

im so saddened when i heard the news this morning, how could it be?! i choose not to believe it, and switched the tv channel to CNA and then to MTV. boo hooo=(

i went online to youtube his songs to put on my blog, but i cant seem to find a perfect one =( ahhhhh why so sooon, i tot i could catch a glimpse of him when i go over to Europe this coming August. boo hoo =(

tribute to michael jackson, loved him since i was a baby! omg, i remember vividly, with joe, sarah, keith, we'll sit in front of the tv almost every weekend, and watch michael jackson LD and then we'll try to mimick his legendary moonwalk and smooth dance moves. and i still have the LD with me, all these years. we never get bored of that particular LD, and watch it again n again n again. undoubtly a legend.

and after so many years, we gathered at caderam's house one night and watch an upgraded version of michael jackson's LD, the DVD. surely the king of pop.

and of coz not forgeting his moonwalk

Bone Cracking Adventure

have been waking up real early for 2 days straight. havent woke up before 1pm for a long long timeeeee!

recap: last saturday i went for a free spinal check at Junction 8. and made an appointment for monday, to get it check thoroughly.

The Chiropractic Centre is located at Bishan, CPF building. It's called Wellnes for Life - Chiropractic.

After the examination, this is what i have!

1. Unleveled Pelvis Bones2. Unleveled shoulders

3. Crooked Spine 4. Wrong Neck Alignment

eeeeks! sounds scary eh! in order to justify these problems, i had to go for X-ray! >.<
Green line is the correct alignment while the red is the problem

Wednesday: Diagnose and Cure

woke up really early @ 8am for my appointment at the centre. *yawns* . They had a group session where everybody watched a short video to learn more about what Chiropractic is and how spinal alignment can affect your life. it's kinda scary actually, how your spine can go out of place. There are 3 phases, 3rd one being the worst.

New Word of the Day: Sublaxation
A loss of the proper alignment of the spinal bones leading to endangering stress or pressure on the highly delicate nervous system. This nerve pressure can be completely silent and can dramatically weaken the body leading to a wide variety of healt breakdowns.

every part of the spine can cause different kind of illness. after the video, i was called out into another room where the doctor explained my condition to me. I am in Phase 2, still can adjust, thank god! the doc is really good and really young as well. Mommy had doubts initally, but i guess she's convinced.

and then it was off to my first Chiropractic Session. I was kind of nervous and anxious, dont know what to expect! and it feels kinda scary, moving the bone back to the correct position. First i had to lie faced down on the bed. Suddenly, part of the bed dropped a level down with a loud "clang". i got a shock! =X and then the doc felt the spine and told me to take a deep breath, and CRACK CRACK CRACK! omg! haha i tot my spine broke! but according to him, it's not broken, but the release of the air trapped inside.

Next, he worked on my neck. all the while, i dare not crack my neck by turning it left or right like what some guys easily do. the doc took my head and twisted it! it was superr scary i tell u! it's like im going to be headless! haha =P

Lastly, he asked me to lie on my side and like what i always do when im in bed, twisted my back, which wasnt that scary because i do it all the time! =)

altogether, the treatment took less than 10mins. but we pay $$$ =( after all the twisting and cracking i felt lighter and very good! it's like taking a load off my back. and the staff there are really friendly, they called me in the afternoon to ensure im well. and there are certain health workshop that will be held occasionally to educate people.

unfortunately, i cant continue with the treatment, according to the doc, i need to go down twice a week for 3 months and after that another X-ray to see if i get better. and then once a week until it's aligned. BUT im already going to Germany in less than 2 months time. Doc say i can start the treatment when i come back next Jan. Mommy got really convinced that they're really sincere to help people. So next treatment will be next year ! =)

crazy dizzy luv for cupcakes

been wondering for months, how do to make cupcakes?! especially those real pretty ones!

soo i went net searching for ingredients and videos, Martha Steward has a great website on cupcake recipes, even have videos. i went to check out youtube.com as well, "how to make cupcakes?" 10 mins videos on the whole process of making it.

my first attempt baking cupcakes, so nooob!

i've got 2 different recipe for the icing on top, one was from youtube, the other martha steward

this is the one from youtube, just icing sugar, water and dye. i think i had too much dye already. that's why it turned out hot pink!
and the this one, had lots of ingredients for the icing. i wonder why it doesnt solidify as quickly as the previous one. and this one definitely tastes a whole lot better!
and ta da! combined! haha i need to learn how to decorate the cupcakes.
pretty in pink everyone!

Happy Birthday Mommy ♥

May you have all the happiness in the world mommy, good health and longevity =)
we ♥ uThis time, we went to somewhere we all have not been before for dinner with Joanne, uncle Ricky and Auntie Yoong Hua, no more Plaza Royal hotel, Shangri-la or Fullerton. Dinner was @ Cafebiz, Traders Hotel Tanglin. Change is definitely good, it's not very expensive considering the selection of food. 2nd to D-line. and there's 2 promotion going on.

1. UOB cardholders: 2 for 1 deal, 2 paying adult and 3rd one eats for free!
2. Birthday: if it's your exact birthday date, u enjoy a discount that corresponse to ur age.

we were lucky! the manager there is soo nice to give us the Birthday discount, though it's not the actual day. =) Reasonable discount, haha shan't say the exact % =Pand here comes the fooood! this is only part of the selection. it's quite value for money, quiet environment, and great food. I love the main courses, usually, i will not revisit the main course section, but this time 2nd, 3rd rounds! =P it's mostly seafood, with occasional BBQ meat served personally by the chef, very similar to Carnivores. the dessert was alright, i was too full to have most of the desserts =X
and soo
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you!

Happy Birthday Mommy-eee,
Happy birthday to you!

second visit to the PC show

on our 2nd visit, mommy decided to drive instead of the public transport. there were lots of people hogging the escalators, parking lots blah blah blah when we got there at about 12pm. went around the whole place like we did the night before, and still undecided.

i think there were more people today, compared to yesterday, because there is a jammed at the entrance! thought thru it thoroughly last night, that i wont buy a new lappie, will stick to bimbo one. but mommy say "daddy wants u to get a new one" and she's instigating me to get a new one too. as i mentioned, something small, thin and durable.

after 2nd round of touring, i was still undecided, so mommy suggested we go sit down and have a coffee, talk about the lappies and exchange. with a cup of earl gray tea and a slice of choc hazelnut cake for accompany.

Alas...

all the other lappies under 2kg are not as impressive as the sony vaio Z series one. and comparing the price with the specs, it's more worth it to get the Sony one instead of the rest. plus, mom's fav "MADE IN JAPAN" label was only present on Sony laps.
all the accessories in the big black box
the lappie is pretty light, 1.4kg only, which is so much lighter than the pink one im using

and below the accessories, TA DA! and this is how it looks like when it's flipped open, ok got to admit, it isnt as pretty as the pink one i have =(

im using my new lappie for this blog entry, the words are sooo small i realised. haha =X

over n out!

summer days with a hint of boredom

had to wake up sooo darn early this morning for class! eeeeks, 3 hrs of class on friday night, and another 6hr awaits me the next day =(

equipped myself with overtines & Ricola, and dragged myself to what seems like hell, bp ps me today for admission day in sch -.- so kay po!
had marketing class @ Huttons from 10-1 and another session from 2-5 =( it's like LLY all over again, luckily i didnt attend his lectures in sch =X the content is around the same. -.- but i think the trainer taught better than school did, more insights. we started by introducing ourselves and im called the "xiao mei'' because im the youngest one in class, the rest are all working class people already.

had lunch during the 1 hr break with mommy, and we chanced upon a Chiropratic booth, free spine checks, what an opportunity to see how chui my spine is now! haha and it's free! =P singaporeans. and as predicted, it's not just bad, my spine condition is very very very bad, leaning towards the left side, because im a lefty. i will have to go for a thorough check on monday to determine the treatment. hope everything will be fine =)

after class, i went with mommy and daddy to Suntec City for the PC Show'09. because i've been wanting to get a light enough lappie to carry around, one that is durable and wont spoil when im in Germany. soo today we decided to go take a look at the lappies available now.

instead of driving i managed to get daddy and mommy to take the MRT because there wont be any car parks available there at this time. normally mommy is very against MRT, but my persuasive power not bad ah, must be the closing skills i learnt in class =P my parents are noobs when it comes to taking public transport (excluding taxi) haha they dont even know how to tap the ezlink card. "ehh insert ah insert ah?" mommy still leaving in yester year where u need to insert the ticket into the slot and wait for it to come out after.

so cute these 2 =P
when we got there, it was already very very very pack, the human traffic is soo heavy! people squeeze people. haha what a recession, everyone carrying big boxes of TVs, small boxes of lappies. we havent felt the pinch yet.didnt manage to get anything today, dont feel like buying a new one actually, feeling very guilty to spend money like that. they've got like certain auctions going on, like limited 5 sets of tv at a lower than usual price. it's impulse buying la! once the guy say GO, people start raising hands, and 5 sets are sold just like that. Impulse.

Dinner time at Imperial Nan Bei Restaurant. we didnt order much because it was already quite late for dinner, sooo 2 simple dish to compliment the rice mommy n daddy had and a bowl of soup for me.
