Having Fun in the Sun

my blog is gonna become a photoblog if i dont start typing some words down. On leave on Monday, i tagged along to Sentosa with kok and brought Waffles along, the weather was great for tanning and that's what i planned to do.

the sky was beautiful that Sunday afternoon but i guess Waffles didnt enjoy his first beach experience because he was tooo hot and tired, all those walking, is prolly the longest he ever walked. he spent almost all the day resting and finding the right spot to laze. while i sat and watch them play ball. got bored after a while and started to take pictures of my surrounding and yes i love my G10! hehe best one yet thanks guys =)

and that's love doing his thing. HOT haha =PP

got a little sun burnt after the whole beach thingy but it felt good, a healthy glow haha =PP ended the day with dinner at a kopitiam with kok and then it was soccer at 2.30am i almost couldnt wake up haha and was dazed during the match thank godness i'm on leave on Monday haha.

summer lovin'

from left to right top: eug ang, caderam, organiser boon pin,
from left to right bottom: kelly , me and christina
and so one fine day, bp decided to have lunch buffet @ Pan Pacific Orchard Hotel. because according to him, it is so damn cheap! $20 lunch at an atas hotel due to the UOB card promotions, 1 for 1 dining.

i dont think the food is that great la, the selection is actually quite sucky, it feels more like breakfast buffet, we ate so much bread because there wasnt that much to savour. no sashimi, or any type of seafood. lots of salad and bread =( .

this is all they had for main course. less than 10 dishes, mostly potato and caderam's pan pacific sausages. which i think taste alright only, not that fantastic.

i was looking forward to dessert actually, haha because there was this huge mouth watering chocolate fountain with all the yummy fruits around it, and i am in the mood for some chocolate=P because the main dishes are just so bad.

the only thing, i feel is yummy is that chocolate tart! yummy and the strawberries=) they go sooooo well with chocolate!

after that disappointing lunch, we headed down to Plaza Sing to catch the long awaited Transformer's sequel, The revenge of the Fallen. haha poor nana and ang, had to watch it 2 times because of us.=P we were seated at 2nd row from the screen, the neck aches, but the movie was quite awesome. megan fox is soo overrated, she's not that pretty la. the fighting scenes were quite messy, couldnt see what was happening most of the time. there were a few funny moments too, n i luv bumblebeee=)

summer days with a hint of boredom

had to wake up sooo darn early this morning for class! eeeeks, 3 hrs of class on friday night, and another 6hr awaits me the next day =(

equipped myself with overtines & Ricola, and dragged myself to what seems like hell, bp ps me today for admission day in sch -.- so kay po!
had marketing class @ Huttons from 10-1 and another session from 2-5 =( it's like LLY all over again, luckily i didnt attend his lectures in sch =X the content is around the same. -.- but i think the trainer taught better than school did, more insights. we started by introducing ourselves and im called the "xiao mei'' because im the youngest one in class, the rest are all working class people already.

had lunch during the 1 hr break with mommy, and we chanced upon a Chiropratic booth, free spine checks, what an opportunity to see how chui my spine is now! haha and it's free! =P singaporeans. and as predicted, it's not just bad, my spine condition is very very very bad, leaning towards the left side, because im a lefty. i will have to go for a thorough check on monday to determine the treatment. hope everything will be fine =)

after class, i went with mommy and daddy to Suntec City for the PC Show'09. because i've been wanting to get a light enough lappie to carry around, one that is durable and wont spoil when im in Germany. soo today we decided to go take a look at the lappies available now.

instead of driving i managed to get daddy and mommy to take the MRT because there wont be any car parks available there at this time. normally mommy is very against MRT, but my persuasive power not bad ah, must be the closing skills i learnt in class =P my parents are noobs when it comes to taking public transport (excluding taxi) haha they dont even know how to tap the ezlink card. "ehh insert ah insert ah?" mommy still leaving in yester year where u need to insert the ticket into the slot and wait for it to come out after.

so cute these 2 =P
when we got there, it was already very very very pack, the human traffic is soo heavy! people squeeze people. haha what a recession, everyone carrying big boxes of TVs, small boxes of lappies. we havent felt the pinch yet.didnt manage to get anything today, dont feel like buying a new one actually, feeling very guilty to spend money like that. they've got like certain auctions going on, like limited 5 sets of tv at a lower than usual price. it's impulse buying la! once the guy say GO, people start raising hands, and 5 sets are sold just like that. Impulse.

Dinner time at Imperial Nan Bei Restaurant. we didnt order much because it was already quite late for dinner, sooo 2 simple dish to compliment the rice mommy n daddy had and a bowl of soup for me.

oh-so-tiring-day

Happening me, walking around and about in town.

with jasper and diana. from 2 - 5pm. shopping for glenda's present, we walked from city hall to suntec and then to marina square. thankfully we've got all the presents we planned on getting. u'll see tonight glenda! hope u'll love it=)

with Christina, and Caderam. from 5 - 9pm. While caderam went to work as his HerbalLife promoter, Christina and i went shopping @ Suntec. presents for david's 21st. walked the whole of suntec a few times before deciding what to get. sadly, royce doesnt carry choc mint anymore. so we walked to millenia walk, hoping to find a decent mint chocs but we couldnt.

with Bestie Michelle. from 9.30 - 11pm. she was also shopping for david and another friend's present. it's a birthday month this may and june, i havent stop buying presents for others. we had a short break at coffeebean wisma. and she showed me all the wonderful photos of her birthday. it's been such a long time since we've gone shopping and took a bus home tgt. it was short and bittersweet. bitter because we had to chase after the bus in our skirts. so unglam=) and we had no seats on the bus, being us, we kept trying to break the fall everytime the bus driver hit the breaks.

with kelly, louis and raymond. from 12 - 3am kelly suddenly msg me "supper?" when i was about to msg her "im going to bed! nights!" haha, louis came all the way frm bedok to pick me and got lost in between. we went chomp chomp for supper in louis's black ah beng car. =X
it was real fun actually, haha many more suppers await huh?! the only 3 photos i took yesterday, was too lazy to whip out the cam during the day.
well a nice ending to a all-so-hectic =)

in a time capsule, it lies

this week has been a real busy one.

busy meeting friends,
busy helping michelle,
busy buying presents and
busy making presents.

let's backtrack to Thursday - 21st May 2009: Day out to the MuseumCad, Bp, Kelly n I had dim sum lunch buffet at Excelsor Hotel. Plan to Kushinbo was cancelled because everyone else Pang Seh bp n cad, while kelly n i didnt want to spend so much on lunch. the food at Excelsor was not bad for $17. though the variety wasnt as wide ranging, it was good.
Our after lunch plan was to watch A Night at the Museum 2 which we did at Cathay, we missed the first 5 mins of the movie because cad wanted to save on ERP...-.- "
overall, the movie was quite a short one, a predictable ending (good triumph over evil) , few funny moments, n i prefer the 1st one
we were so inspired by the Movie =X that we headed across the road, to the Singapore National Museum. Free entry for NUS students if u present your Matric Card, call that a perk of being an NUS student.
There were 2 exhibits at the basement, so we decided to go check them out, one was on Furniture design ( more like Industrial Design) and the 2nd one was on Fashion, elaborated works of art.Headed upstairs for the exhitbits on the History of Singapore. how boring can Singapore be, everything we already learnt from years of social studies n history in secondary sch. there were no first man to the moon, no first lady to fly a plane, no dinosaur exhibits nor were there pharoahs and tombstones. but there were tanks.....
* watching tv in the 1960s @ community centres*

4 other exhibit halls featuring food of the past, photograhy, film, and fashion. what kelly n i realise was, clothes worn in the past is becoming real fashionable now! haha how can they be in the Museum....=P
* looking at vintage tea wares of the 60s*

lunch set is super worth the $$. $9.90 for 2 big pieces of Fish and chips, Mushroom Soup and a Giant Cup of Ice Tea. We were full after having 1 piece of fish because the portion is really huge..recession proof, because u can save on dinner! hehe =)

Shopping @ Haji Lane with Kelly,
a street or shall i say, lane, at one corner of the city with many hidden treasures, up n down the stairs, pretty paintings and graffiti's on walls, unique shops with lots of vintage items, and cosy decor...i felt as if i wasnt in Singapore! *sua ku* my first trip to Haji Lane
didnt buy anything because they're simply tooo expensive to buy! but real pretty stuff.

we sat down for ice cream @ this place called Pluck, love the ice cream! though the place looks like they serve pricey ice cream, but it wasnt that pricey afterall =P
the end of shopping adventure
..and im gonna STAY HOME THIS WEDNESDAY NIGHT...

Hélios II

La Compagnie Malabar (France)

Asian Premiere

Out of Chaos comes an inspired surrealist evocation of the mythological tale of the creation of the sun god, Hélios. Strange mythical insects, builders of light and worshippers of the sun, emblazon the dark night in a breathtaking symphony of lights and sounds and conjure up a fantastic spectacle harking back to a time of myth.

Witness as French urban theatre extraordinaires La Compagnie Malabar brings to life the construction of the sun god at its zenith, with a spectacular procession of circus artists, performances, music and dazzling pyrotechnic displays.

it's very Rag-like..only difference is it's super long! 70mins..i was bored after like 20mins of the show..haha not a art person i prefer dramas =P

n there were fireworks! yipppeee! i love fireworks =)
we were lucky enough to get a good seat n view of the show n the fireworks, though not as spectacular as national day was still pretty awesome!

dazzling display of fireworks lit the night sky at the marina barrage
